Artistic Director: David Fraser

Artistic Director: The Artistic Director is an appointed position by the board. The Artistic Director is responsible for directing the initiatives for the WordStorm year including the eight WordStorm spoken word evenings, the workshops, any special events that arise during the year, and the website. In his or her capacity all or some of the above may be delegated or assigned by job description to other positions. The Artistic Director, like the President will provide leadership for all initiatives.

President: The President is an elected position. The President is responsible for the management for membership, finances, promotions, advertising and partnerships. The president will provide leadership by being knowledgeable regarding all events involving The WordStorm Society of the Arts and will chair the semi-annual board meetings and any special meetings of the board as they occur, as well as the AGM.

Vice-President: The Vice-President is an elected position. The Vice-President will work closely with the President and the Artistic Director and be prepared to assume the duties of the President, if the President is absent.

Treasurer: The Treasurer is an elected position. The treasurer is responsible for accounting for all monies involved in the operation of The WordStorm Society of the Arts. He or she will provide a financial statement for the AGM and keep accurate financial records during the year.

Secretary: Fran Thiessen Contact Fran Thiessen

Secretary: The Secretary is an elected position. The Secretary is responsible for maintaining the minutes of all meetings and for maintaining up-to-date membership files. The secretary is responsible for emailing members or designating others on the board on his or her behalf to do this task.

Director-at-large: This position is an elected position. Directors-at-large are directors who sit on the board at meetings and offer advice and may be called upon to assist with initiatives or tasks within those initiatives. Examples of such tasks might be the following: staffing the book table, MC for WordStorm, assisting with the judging process, set-up, staffing the door, general help for workshops and other initiatives, assisting any of the other Directors and the Artistic Director with their responsibilities.
