Featured readers will have a maximum of 15 minutes to perform.
Lightning readers will have a maximum of 5 minutes to perform but three minutes is perferred.
Open mic competition readers will have a maximum of 5 minutes to perform but three minutes is perferred.
Open Mic readers read one piece only for the competition unless they are reading haiku.
Readers going over time will be gonged and competitors will have their score reduced by 1 point.
Readers can bring books to sell and promote at the book table.
All work read must be the writer's own material.
Tip: Often prose pieces are of course longer than 5 minutes. A suggestion is to read
the beginning and the end with a brief summary of the middle in order to be able to stay within the
reading limit and avoid being gonged.
For poets,where possible we will apply for funding to the Canadian League of Poets.
